Barton School District is committed to the health and safety of our students, staff members, and their families, and we will be proactive in our social distancing and sanitation measures as well as keep the communication lines open. In an effort to be transparent and still maintain privacy for students and staff members, we have developed the following communication process regarding Covid-19 positive cases.
When Barton School District is notified that a positive case of Covid-19 is within a school building, staff members and parents of all students who are in that specific school will be notified through a text message at the end of the school day, but NOT before all probable close contacts have been notified.
When a student or staff member is determined to be a probable close contact and may have been exposed to Covid-19, the parent or employee will receive a phone call.
When students or staff members are directed to quarantine, but there is NOT a confirmed positive COVID-19 case, a school text notification will not be sent.

Tomorrow, August 16th starts another school year!! Some key things for day one are:
Students can’t arrive to school until 7:30 a.m.
High school students will NOT go to the cafeteria when they arrive to school. High school students will go straight to the gymnasium everyday.
High School students will have a campus meeting at 8:00 in the gym.
Elementary students will go to the cafeteria when they arrive to school for breakfast.
1st bell will ring at 7:50. Tardy bell will ring at 8:00 a.m.
School will dismiss at 3:15 p.m.
Mask are REQUIRED for everyone unless an Opt-Out form has been completed.

All sports will be introduced and performances by the Barton Band and Barton Cheerleaders! Lets get this season started off! Go Bears!
Barton School District has two big events coming up next week!! Bear Fest is Tuesday, August 10th, starting at 6:00pm on Frank McClellan Field. $5.00 admission will also include a hamburger, chips, water, and a cookie! Come meet all the 21-22 Barton Bears! All sports will be introduced and performances by the Barton Band and Barton Cheerleaders! Open House will be Thursday, August 12th, from 12:00 to 6:30. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet their teachers, pick up schedules, tour the new high school building, and buy Chromebook insurance. School starts August 16th!
Sports physicals will be this Tuesday, August 3rd at 3:45 for boys and Thursday, August 5th at 3:45 for girls. Students will be bused to the Bell Clinic to get their physicals at no cost.
Barton Booster Club is having a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 3rd at 5:30 in the Kirkland Facility. Everyone is invited to attend.
Chromebook Insurance and pick up is this week, August 2nd, 8:00 to 3:00, August 3rd, 8:00-3:00, and August 4th, 10:30-6:00 in the Kirkland Facility. CASH ONLY!! All students, Kindergarten-12th grade, will be issued a school Chromebook. Insurance is $25 for the 1st child and $15 for each additional child in the household. Everyone's insurance payment is due during these 3 days. However, only students going into the 5th and 9th grade will get their Chromebook at this time. All other students will receive their Chromebooks from their English teachers after school starts. Barton Jr. Bears will start football practice today, July 13th, 3:30 to 5:30. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of July. Go Bears!
Summer Bootcamp students that need transportation, please be at your normal bus stop no later than 7:20 a.m. tomorrow, July 12th. While you are waiting for the bus, please be visible so the driver can see you. The drivers will not be driving their normal routes.
