All Barton School District staff will work remotely tomorrow, April 14th. The school does not have internet access due to storm damage. Teachers will be available to assist students with AMI packets while working remotely.

As ordered by the Department of Education, all public schools, including Barton, will remain closed for the remainder of the school year (May 20, 2020). All extra-curricular activities and school functions will be canceled for the reminder of the year. School will continue education through paper AMI packets. Your child will receive the remaining AMI packets at pick up Monday through Wednesday of this week.
1. Pick up AMI Packets to complete the school year Monday, April 6th- Wednesday April 8th, in the elementary or high school buildings.
2. Teachers will be available for AMI packet assistance 8:00-11:00 and 12:00-2:00.

4. Teachers will enter grades in a timely fashion. However, papers will be quarantined the recommended time by the CDC and teachers will grade multiple days of work per student. Please be patient as it will take several weeks to bring all grades up to current.

6. School will be closed, Monday, April 13th, for Easter Monday.
7. AMI packets 11-24 (14 days) will be due April 27th, 28th, and 29th. (Students may turn in days (11-40) if completed ahead of time.)
8. AMI Packets 25-40 (16 days) will be due May 13th, 14th, and 15th.
9. Seniors will complete AMI Packets 11-24 (14 days). This will complete their work requirements. Barton intends to honor their seniors. At this time, we are looking for the best ways to accomplish this. Once this is determined, seniors will be notified. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you to the majority of parents for picking up AMI packets yesterday and for your cooperation. If you have not picked up your AMI packet, they are available for pick up from 8:00 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 3:00. Please make arrangements to pick up the AMI packets. Teachers are available for help via school phone and school email. If you can not get in touch with your teacher, call the building office and leave your name and phone number and they will make sure the teacher calls you back.

Barton School District will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16th through Friday, March 20th due to COVID-19. School will be closed Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 27th for Spring Break. PARENTS MUST COME TO THE SCHOOL TO PICK UP AMI PACKETS BETWEEN 8:00-11:30 or 12:30-3:00. Packets can be picked up any day of this week. Teachers will be available daily from 8:00 to 3:00 by school phone or school email to assist students with AMI work. Teachers will have lunch and planning period from 11:30 to 12:30 daily. Teachers are to report to work daily at 7:45. As of now, AMI work must be completed and returned on Monday, March 30th. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and release updates as needed.
Baseball and softball games scheduled for today, 3/13/20, have been canceled. AAA has suspended all spring sports from March 15th through March 30th.
The Sr and Jr high softball games scheduled for today against Nettleton and Palestine have been cancelled.
Barton Lexa School District Parent/Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, March 12, from 2:30 to 7:00 in the Kirkland Facility. Students will dismiss at 2:00 on March 12th.
Barton Elementary library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair is now through Friday, March 13th. All proceeds will be used for books and materials for our library. Thank you for your support.
